I’m not going to argue that Christmas pudding is probably one of the perfect traditional post-Christmas dinner desserts; However, it does take hours to make yourself. Of course you always have the option of buying a ready made Christmas pudding which will most likely be full of sugars and additives. I’m not saying you shouldn’t indulge, but if you would prefer a healthier treat that you can make at home in less than 15 minutes, then I’ve got you covered.
Baking is my therapy. Whenever I’m feeling stressed or agitated, I always find that baking makes me feel better. The whole process of sifting, measuring, mixing, then knowing I’ll have something yummy to enjoy at the end of it. It also leaves the house smelling so homely and inviting 🙂 my house definitely smelt good when making these Chai Spiced oat bars.
Autumn is here and it’s time to bring out the festive spices. Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger and of course not forgetting my favourite spice of all…cardamom!!
What’s so special about waffles? I never really saw what all the fuss was about, until now! Since hubby was given a waffle maker for his birthday, I tried it for the first time and fell in love! Pancake weekends are now referred to as waffle weekends! Don’t get me wrong, I will always love my pancakes. The thing about waffles, and it’s something that you can never get with pancakes, is their crispiness.
One of the main things I like about granola is its convenience. You can make a big batch, store it in an air tight container and know you have breakfast sorted for the next few weeks. Very handy for days when you need a quick breakfast or snack.
If you’ve been following me for a while you will know how much I absolutely love overnight oats! It’s definitely my go-to breakfast recipe especially if I know I’m going to be in a rush in the morning and won’t have much time to prepare breakfast. There are so many fun ways to change it around so that each morning you have a completely different tasting breakfast!
Smoothies are one of the easiest ways to get some fruit and veg into your daily diet. It’s also one of the easiest ways to create a balanced meal with sufficient amounts of carbohydrates, proteins and fats!
I filmed a short video showing you how to make healthy porridge – all you need is oats, some form of liquid and a pan! Typically when I make porridge I would add some cinnamon to flavour, a mashed banana, some dried fruit (dates and raisins are my favourote!) for some natural sweetness and some nuts, seeds or nut butter for some healthy fats and a bit of crunch. To top it off, i like to add some fresh fruit, berries and whatever else I fancy on that particular day.
