So these brownies were kind of an accident. Is it just me or are the best recipes usually the ones that don’t go to plan, instead they result in something even better! I was trying to make egg free chocolate cookies, but they didn’t turn out exactly the way I planned, so I decided to turn them into brownies instead…and here’s the result!
I made this cheesecake for my brother’s birthday the other day. I thought it would be a nice change from a regular birthday cake, plus he likes peanut butter and chocolate and I thought that combo would go so much better in the form of a cheesecake!
This cheesecake is vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free.
I never thought the day would come when I could say I make my own homemade chocolate, how could that even be possible? I was so impressed by the idea of making homemade chocolate using only 3 ingredients without the need for any fancy equipments or techniques. The basic recipe calls for:
Smoothies are one of the easiest ways to get some fruit and veg into your daily diet. It’s also one of the easiest ways to create a balanced meal with sufficient amounts of carbohydrates, proteins and fats!
Banana ice-cream is probably one of my favourite healthy/clean eating discoveries. The first time I made banana ice-cream (AKA nicecream or nana ice-cream) I was blown away by the simplicity, and the results were close to perfect! How can a humble frozen banana equal a creamy, sweet and decadent ice-cream? Nothing added – no sugar, no cream, not salt…NOTHING!
Brownies are probably one of my favourite desserts. Dense, rich, sweet and most importantly full of chocolatey goodness! What’s not to love?! I don’t think I’ve ever come across anyone who doesn’t love brownies. However, they do tend to leave a heavy feeling in my stomach. Not surprising when you consider the mountain of sugar and fat that’s added to a typical brownie recipe.
The secret ingredient in these blondies and what makes them healthy is – you’ve probably already guessed it – CHICKPEAS! Most of the healthy blondie recipes out there include some sort of nut butter. I wanted to create a nut free recipe for those of you allergic to nuts, and this is the result! Healthy, nut free, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free.
As an IBS sufferer I really have to be careful what I eat, particularly for breakfast. Usually if I start the day off wrong, my digestive system will play up the rest of the day no matter what I do. I would get this heavy unsettling feeling in my stomach, like a brick. It feels like the food sits there for hours and I start feeling so tired, sluggish and lethargic. Pancakes were one of those foods that I had to avoid in the morning!
This smoothie tastes so so good, kind of like a chocolate milkshake! But all the ingredients will nourish and feed your body. The healthy carbs (from the banana) and protein (from the added protein powder) make it an excellent breakfast or post-workout meal.
Love chocolate but feel guilty every time you have a piece or two? Then make your own homemade healthy version. Too difficult? It’s actually super duper easy! You can make these beautiful 3 layered cacao coconut blueberry chocolates using only 5 main ingredients!! You don’t need any fancy equipment, just your ingredients and a pan.
