Halloween Spider Web Truffles (Vegan & Gluten-free)

Halloween Spider Web Truffles Halloween seems to be becoming everyone's favourite 'holiday'. Even though technically it's not a holiday, it's something that so many of us look forward to every year!  It gets our creative juices flowing and gives us adults an excuse to be kids again by dressing up in any outfit we like and enjoy making and eating some creatively decorated treats fun treats! I haven't had the chance to make many Halloween recipes for my blog so far as I always seem to have something going on around this time of year. Last year for example I was busy working on assignments and clinic preparation that I just didn't have the time to experiment in the kitchen with some halloween themed recipes.  [...]

Raw Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake

Raw Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Both the hubby and I are huge fans of cheesecake, but as someone who avoids dairy, refined carbs and sugar, regular animal fat and sugar-laden cheesecakes are off the menu for me. However, I do still crave a slice every now and then - that's when a raw cheesecake comes in handy! I'm pretty sure you'll agree with me when I say layered cheesecakes are ALWAYS better than a no-layered cheesecake. They just look so pretty when you slice into them and I like the distinguished flavours. Chocolate and peanut butter is such a classic and delicious pairing. I haven't yet come across someone who doesn't like those 2 flavours merged together. This raw chocolate peanut butter cheesecake is [...]

Vegan Custard Tarts (Gluten-free)

Vegan Custard Tarts When I started cutting out dairy, one of the many things I stopped eating was custard, and it's one of the many things I really missed! I had no idea how easy it was so make my own, homemade dairy-free version. It's ridiculously easy! AND it tastes just like 'normal' custard. How I wish I tried this recipe months and months ago! I missed out on so much custard goodness! I just realised this paragraph is full of exclamation marks!! Moving on... These vegan custard tarts taste like the 'real thing' and the custard part definitely tastes like the custard I remember and love. Sweet, thick and...vanillary? OK I think I just made that word up but [...]

10 Vegetarian Main Meal Ideas

10 Vegetarian Main Meal Ideas It's international vegetarian day! I have no doubt in my mind that eating less meat and more vegetarian meals is healthier for you, better for the environment and obviously means less animals need to suffer. There is plenty of research out there associating meat with chronic conditions that are on the rise like heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Many don't want to cut down on meat for obvious reasons, one of them being the perception that a meat-free dish is boring and not as tasty, but that's absolutely NOT the case. You just need to find the right recipes and experiment a little to find the flavours and combinations that you like.  Here are some [...]

Chocolate Protein Waffles (Vegan & Gluten-free)

Weekends are for waffles! On Sunday mornings I make more of an effort to make a special breakfast for the hubby and I since we don't often get the chance to sit together for breakfast during the week. Having a proper relaxed, take-your-time breakfast with loved ones really is one of the best ways to spend a Sunday morning.

Nectarine Crumble (Vegan & Gluten-free)

Nectarine Crumble (Vegan & Gluten-free) September marks the beginning of Autumn, shorter days, cooler evenings and comfort food. I can’t think of a better way to welcome this month than with a bowl of warm crumble with a generous serving of cold custard! With the GBBO in full swing (in case you haven’t noticed with all the tweets and facebook posts), everyone is in the mood for baking. Even though we would all like to spend countless hours decorating a cakes or creating patisserie style treats, the reality is that most of us just don’t have much time to bake. If you’re new to baking, have never baked before or you’re looking to bake something that doesn’t require much preparation [...]

Fruity Kombucha Popsicles

We've had a few glorious, hot sunny days here in the UK, but unfortunately it looks like things are set to change on the weekend. I'm pretty sure that will surprise anyone. Homemade Raspberry Chocolate (Raw/Vegan/Dairy-free) – Video

Making your own dairy-free chocolate at home couldn't be easier! All you need is some coconut oil, cocoa powder and some sort of liquid sweetener. I like to add nut butter, especially cashew butter to make it more creamy and delicious :D but it's completely optional. I would however avoid using peanut butter because the taste is just too overpowering.
