Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Looking for healthy breakfast ideas, then you're in the right place! Here's a list of my favourite recipes to enjoy for breakfast. They're healthy and can easily be adjusted to your likes and dietary requirements. Most are high in protein, some are vegan/dairy-free and gluten-free.  We’ve all heard it before: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” But in today’s fast-paced world, it’s also the most commonly skipped meal. Between hitting snooze, rushing out the door, or diving straight into work, many of us settle for a coffee and call it good. Yet, science consistently shows that a balanced, nutritious breakfast sets the tone for your entire day - physically, mentally, and even emotionally. Not everyone is a [...]

Cottage Cheese Protein Pancakes

A breakfast that’s both comforting and packed with nutrition, these cottage cheese protein pancakes might just become your new go-to! Serve them warm with some Greek yoghurt, nut butter and fruit for a wholesome breakfast that will keep you feeling satisfied and satiated. If you’ve ever wanted to make pancakes that actually keep you full until lunchtime, it’s time to meet your new breakfast hero: cottage cheese. This humble dairy product has quietly moved from the diet plate to the brunch table - and for good reason. When blended into pancake batter, cottage cheese transforms the texture, taste, and nutrition of your morning stack. Combine it with hearty oats instead of refined flour, and you’ve got a high-protein, lower-sugar breakfast [...]

Healthy Tahini Halva Recipe

This healthy tahini halva recipe is my take on the traditional tahini halva, but higher in protein, lower in fat and added sugar. Made with only 4 main ingredients and can easily be adjusted. There's no cooking involved - all you need is a spoon and bowl!  Tahini halva has a history that stretches back more than a thousand years. The term halva comes from the Arabic word meaning “sweet,” and while its exact beginnings are uncertain, many historians trace its origins to ancient Persia and the broader Middle East. One of the earliest known halva recipes appears in a 13th-century Arabic cookbook, marking its deep cultural roots in the region’s culinary traditions. If you're familiar with the word, but [...]

Karak Chai

If you're a tea fan, I can guarantee that this Karak Chai recipe will be your new favourite way to prepare your daily cuppa! Brewed slowly to create a rich, strong and sweet tea with aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.  What is Karak Chai? The roots of Karak Chai trace back to South Asia, where “chai” (tea) has been a daily staple for centuries. The word “karak” meaning strong, referring to its bold flavour and concentrated brew. It was brought to the Gulf region by Indian laborers during the mid-20th century, where it quickly found a new identity. Over time, Gulf locals embraced and adapted it - giving birth to a uniquely Middle Eastern version that combines the [...]

Healthy Twix Bites

These healthy Twix bites are my take on the original much loved treat. Made with just a handful of better-for-you ingredients and they're not bake, so you don't even need to turn on your oven! There’s something so irresistible about the classic Twix bar - the layers of crunchy biscuit, gooey caramel, and silky chocolate. But if you’ve ever wished for a version that satisfies your sweet tooth without the sugar crash, these healthy Twix bites are a game-changer. They're no bake with less refined sugar, more fibre and healthy fats.  Why I love making these healthy Twix bites: Instead of refined sugar and processed flours, these healthy Twix bars call for more wholesome ingredients like oats, almonds and tahini. [...]

Cottage Cheese Chocolate Mousse

This cottage cheese chocolate mousse is a lighter, high-protein twist on traditional chocolate mousse. Instead of being made with cream, eggs and lots of sugar, I use blended cottage cheese as the base. When whipped smooth with cocoa powder, peanut butter and maple syrup, the cottage cheese creates the perfect creamy, yet light mousse-like texture. The result is a dessert that’s rich and chocolatey but lower in fat, higher in protein, and it feels indulgent while being more nutrient-dense. I won't claim this cottage cheese chocolate mousse tastes exactly like 'the real thing'. Of course the traditional way of making a chocolate mousse will tastes richer and much more decadent. What I can say however is that if you're on [...]

Raspberry Chocolate Bar (3 Ingredients)

You'll never want to buy an overpriced gourmet chocolate bar ever again once you see how easy it is to make this raspberry chocolate bar at home. Packed with fibre and antioxidants and she looks so fancy, don't you think? Easily customisable to taste and you don't really need any equipment to make them. Don't have a chocolate mould? No problem - there's no need for one. A loaf tin or even a baking sheet will do the job.  Why I love making this raspberry chocolate bar: I love raspberries and peanut butter - the two gel so well together. Think PB&J, but grown up. Raspberry is often used in high-end jams, and peanut butter is its most iconic partner. [...]
