4-Ingredient Salted Caramel Fudge
Do you feel you overdosed on chocolate over the Easter holiday? No? Me neither, but can you really overdose on chocolate?? Well the answer is yes but it doesn’t count during Easter 😛
Actually, I haven’t had any Easter chocolate or any kind of Easter treats this year. I’ve been recipe developing meaning I had way too many of my own treats to work my way through that I didn’t see the need to go out and buy an Easter egg and my family know not to get me treats for that exact same reason. Which worked out fine! It just means my chocolate cravings are as strong as ever, and that’s why I’m posting this chocolate covered 4-ingredient salted caramel fudge recipe.
Reasons you need to try this 4-Ingredient salted caramel fudge:
- Super easy to make
- Requires no cooking
- No temperature checking
- No thermometer
Also, it’s
- Vegan
- Dairy-free
- Gluten-free
- Sweetened with whole dates
- Much healthier than regular fudge
- Only calls for 4-ingredients
- And salted caramel! Need I say more????
Tahini and dates are one of the most beautiful, underused and underrated flavour combinations ever! I grew up in Iraq eating both and one of my favourite breakfasts was ‘dibis wa rashi’, which literally translates to ‘date syrup and tahini’. Mix a small amount of both in a small dish and dip bread into it. Sheer heaven! So I wanted to bring my childhood breakfast to life in the form of a dessert.
As you may have noticed, dates feature quite heavily in my recipes. I just love using them as a sweetener so much! I usually go for the cheaper varieties of dates because I can’t afford buying medjool dates every few days and I know not everyone can afford them, but for this recipe I do make an exception. The medjool dates just add the most amazing fudgy texture that I’ve struggled to get with other types of dates. They also give the fudge the most amazing caramel taste.
4-Ingredient Salted Caramel Fudge
Makes – 12 pieces
Ingredients
13 (250g) pitted medjool dates
1/2 cup (120ml) tahini
Pinch of salt
200g dark chocolate, melted
Method
Press into a loaf tine (I used a 22×12 cm loaf tin). Freeze for 1-2 hours.
Slice into 12 even pieces and dip into the melted chocolate insuring each piece of fudge is fully covered.
Allow the chocolate to set. Enjoy!
Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can freeze the leftovers, just ensure you take them out of the freezer 15-20 minutes before serving.
This caramel fudge looks absolutely amazing, Nadia! I love that it has only a few ingredients 🙂
A rich yet healthy sweet treat! I love it!
Oh my word Nadia, how awesome this treat looks. And so easy! Thanks for sharing!
Dee xx
Wonderful bites! Easy and delicious. I used date paste since I had it on hand.
I can’t think of a more delicious salted caramel treat than this one! So I’m not too big on fudge, but this looks to die for. Will make this as soon as I find the ingredients!
Sooooo delicious.. i love this recipe because it is simple to make and minimum ingredients required…plus this a perfect recipe for those who have low hemoglobin because date is the main ingredient here…
These look amazing! I love date caramel, so much you can do with it.. I also like making it with some coconut cream for extra creaminess 🙂
Thank you Erika. I love the idea of using coconut cream! Will try it next time I make date caramel 🙂
looking forward to more choices
I just made these! SO GOOD! And, 3 year old loved one for dessert 🙂
Looks UH-mazing!!! I need to try these ASAP… Pinned!
These are a favorite of all the adults, especially those with dietary restrictions. I recently made them with my sister’s homemade chocolate (cocoa, coconut, honey, salt) and they were amazing. Perfect, feel-good snack. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!
Wow – these were truly one of the best, easiest treats I’ve ever made for my family. Thank you so much!
I tried these today and am so glad I did! They also remind me a little of peanut butter cups. far nicer having this much healthier version though! Thank you Nadia!
Thank you so much Nadia. Since I tried it, it became my favorite dessert ever.
Made these for 3rd time, they are great!
Hi! I loved the recipe. However, is there any alternative i can use instead of tahini?
Made these a while ago as I wanted to try the recipe. They have become my go to treat for everything. Just as a treat in the house, taking to have at evenings out. Asked for them as a Christmas present. I have been in to a shop today and asked if I was the one that made them as my partner had been raving about them so definitely a huge hit. Thank you.
Aww thank you for your lovely comment Hannah! 😀 So glad you enjoyed them!!
This looks like something that my entire family would love and they could see how great vegan food is!
You definitely need to try it Lea 😀
I have made this recipe countless times and everyone really liked them .. it’s a keeper and sooooo easy
I’m so so glad to hear that Lois 😀 xx
This is not fudge…or caramel lol. They look like they might taste good but those are more like energy bites. I just think the title is kind of misleading. No hate it’s your blog, but I’m not sure why people feel the need to convince everyone that if you add nut/seed butter to literal date paste that it will somehow make it caramel. That said I’m sure it’s a good tasting healthy snack for someone who either can’t eat sugar or real caramel or doesn’t wanna cook sugar. I make my dairy free caramel with coconut cream and coconut sugar and it tastes great, but sometimes the super sugary stuff can be too much I agree. Thanks for sharing your recipe, have a good day!
Hi Liz 🙂 thank you for sharing your opinion. I do think the combination of dates and tahini tastes like fudge, perhaps a Middle Eastern version of it 😉 Maybe if you try it you’ll agree that they taste more like fudge than energy balls.
Hi, this looks amazing and easy. What can I replace the tahini with? I’m just not a fan of it. I might try these in my honeycomb molds to make them smaller and more uniform. I’m a weirdo like that. LOL
Hi Leslie 🙂 You can use any runny nut butter instead of tahini. The honeycomb moulds may be a little small, but you can give it a go!
