Baking is my therapy. Whenever I’m feeling stressed or agitated, I always find that baking makes me feel better. The whole process of sifting, measuring, mixing, then knowing I’ll have something yummy to enjoy at the end of it. It also leaves the house smelling so homely and inviting 🙂 my house definitely smelt good when making these Chai Spiced oat bars.
So winter is officially here my belly is feeling rounder and my jeans feel slightly less comfortable to wear, not to mention the dreaded double chin! If like me, you feel you put on weight during these colds months don’t worry…it’s actually very common! On average, we gain between 2-4 pounds in the few months leading up to Christmas and New Year.
There is no denying that winter has arrived. The joys of numb toes, fingers and in my case, a very red nose.
I felt the cold, crisp air hit me this morning more than ever! But I’m not sad about it, on the contrary, I’m one of those people who embraces the cold season and actually looks forward to it. The only things I’m not keen on is the shorter days, the increased rain probability and…weight gain! I’ve already put on 2kg and it’s not even Christmas yet! *sigh*
Since the weather is fast becoming colder here in the UK, I’m slowly turning away from my beloved overnight oats and towards more warm and comforting breakfasts. Oatmeal/porridge is always a good breakfast option for those cold, gloomy mornings. But what if you don’t even have time to prepare that?
