I’ve finally uploaded my first YouTube video (whoop whoop!) showing you how to make simple yet so delicious chocolate date truffles. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel, like and leave me a comment. It would be so lovely to hear your thoughts 🙂
Calling all chocolate lovers! If you love chocolate but can’t eat dairy or you’re trying to avoid for health reasons, then this recipe is perfect for you. Actually…if you love chocolate, full stop. Then this recipe is perfect for you! There is no arguing that this is an indulgent dessert. Rich, velvety and chocolaty…my kind of treat. I would serve this kind of dessert at dinner parties or after a special dinner with the hubby.
These turmeric spiced roasted nuts are my favourite new thing to snack on, especially mid-morning time. I usually start feeling peckish 2-3 hours after breakfast and need to have something between breakfast and lunch to keep me going otherwise I start feeling a little irritable. When I say ‘a little’ I actually mean ‘very!’.
Are there any Terry’s Chocolate Orange fans in the house? If you live in the UK, you’ll probably be getting one in your Christmas stocking next month, but for those of you not familiar with Terry’s chocolate orange, it’s an orange flavoured chocolate that’s a festive staple in many UK households. Round in shape with separated segments, just like an orange!
Coconut sugar is a natural sugar derived from the liquid sap of the coconut blossoms. It’s basically coconut nectar evaporated into sugar crystals. I love using coconut sugar in my healthy recipes, especially in baking. There are three main reasons why I like to use coconut sugar…
This is another breakfast recipe inspired by cake! If I was ever asked this question ‘If you could only eat one cake for the rest of your life, what would it be?’ I would probably have to say ‘date and walnut cake’ even though it would be a painful decision to make since I love all and any type of cake! I have always preferred rich, dense cakes and loaves over light, spongy and creamy cakes.
There is no denying that winter has arrived. The joys of numb toes, fingers and in my case, a very red nose.
I felt the cold, crisp air hit me this morning more than ever! But I’m not sad about it, on the contrary, I’m one of those people who embraces the cold season and actually looks forward to it. The only things I’m not keen on is the shorter days, the increased rain probability and…weight gain! I’ve already put on 2kg and it’s not even Christmas yet! *sigh*
On most evening, I like making quick and simple recipes, like these healthy tuna patties. All you need to do is chop a few ingredients, mix everything in one bowl, shape into patties and shallow fry for a few minutes and you’ll have a tasty and satisfying meal. You can eat these tuna patties on their own with a side salad and sweet potato fried, or you can turn it into a burger with layers of tomato, lettuce, a slice of cheese and a drizzle of Sriracha…perfect!
If you’ve never tried, or even heard of chia pudding then you’re in for a treat! Some may say that chia seeds have been over-hyped the past year or so, which may be true but with good reasons.
I know quite a few people who wish they could have cake all day everyday, including myself. I must admit it is nice knowing I’m not the only one out there with a cake obsession. But let’s face it, this is a healthy food blog and I am trying to promote a healthier lifestyle so cake for breakfast is out of the question, but no one said anything about not eating cake flavoured oatmeal!
